Welcome |
| We are very proud to
present you our new website. Since the creation
of Tangelo Park Civic Association we have worked hard to
develop and implement initiatives for the benefit of the
families that live here. During the last year we have
been thinking of creating a communication mechanism that
would enable us to share with you all information related to
activities, new developments and initiatives we've
been working with to make Tangelo Park a better community.
This year that dream came true with the development of this
website. It was in the summer of 1957 when Tangelo Park became a Grass Roots urban development inhabited mostly by McCoy Air Force families, Martin Marietta employees and retirees. The location of this community between Sandlake Road and Kirkman Road in the southwest part of Orange County made it a very convenient location for these residents, but badly in need of many, many conveniences for living conditions. There were no street lights, sidewalks, public transportation, etc. The people had to organize. Using the school as a meeting place, they began to form an Association. After more than 50 years, we continue working hand in hand, keeping our civic goals in mind to make this neighborhood the best in the Orlando area. Navigate through our pages to learn about new projects and activities we are leading, enjoy pictures of some of our activities, learn how you can benefit from a variety of programs created for our community, and why not start thinking of joining us in our monthly meetings. Come visit us. Join Tangelo Park Civic Association. Together we can work to give our children the better life they deserve. Start working today to make it a reality! |
